High Performance (High Temperature) Materials

MPR is able to process the most demanding high performance materials

MPR’s new plant in Elgin, Illinois is equipped with a new, technologically-advanced, centralized drying system which is capable of drying the most difficult engineering grade resins (even up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit). After an exhaustive analysis of the plastic dryer market, MPR chose Universal Dynamics, Inc. (Unadyn) to design and manufacture its new system.

A new high temperature drying and conveying system allows MPR to process the most advanced high temperature materials on the market. Click here to learn more about PCT2 Dryers

Given MPR’s focus on high precision, complex injection molding, our goal was to invest in the highest performance drying system available. A litmus test for a drying system’s capability is its ability to dry and convey PET, one of the most challenging hydroscopic thermoplastics. Unadyn sells more PET bottle systems and PET sheet lines in North America than all of its competitors combined. Unadyn’s PET customers rely on their systems because they are the gold standard for drying difficult hydroscopic materials.

MPR’s new system not only maintains dew points consistently below -60 degree Fahrenheit but also uses closed loop dry air conveying to ensure the materials stay dry during conveyance to the injection molding machines.

Equipped with this state-of-the-art drying and conveying system, MPR is able to process the most demanding high performance materials. These materials provide high temperature, corrosion and chemical resistance and extremely high mechanical properties.
